Fourth of July Parade
on Jul 10 in The South by SumiMy In-laws live in the country, a beautiful little community overseeing Greers Ferry Lake. The folks over there are laid back much like the people of Hawaii. They’ll help you when you are in need. They watch out for one another. They are close knit and they know how to part-tay. A few years ago, the idea was born to have a Fourth of July Parade through the streets in their neighborhood. They decorate their cars, and they’ll toss out Mardi Gras beads to people along the streets as they pass them by. It’s a lot of work driving a slow 2 mile distance with only one hand because you need the other hand to hold the beer. It also gets pretty hot out so they stop a couple of times for refreshments and more beer at one of the neighbors. Here are some photos of these party animals. They are a hoot and they are lovely people. Happy Fourth of July! You guys look awesome.

The pictures are great. Thanks for the story. We do have a lot of fun up here. Living in a rural area, you have to have fun any way you can and we seem to have fun all of the time.

Kudos to the photographer. This year the parade was the biggest and grandest yet. I guess we will soon have floats and start a year in advance getting ready. Ha,Ha
